Henrietta Toivanen is a recent PhD graduate from the School of Public and International Affairs at Princeton University. Her research has focused on diplomacy, international negotiations, and other topics in foreign and security policy, particularly in the context of the broader Middle East. After her graduation and prior to joining ISS, she worked at UNDP Iran as a Water Management Officer, and has previously lived and worked in Jordan, Tajikistan, and elsewhere across Europe, the Middle East, and Asia. She received her bachelor’s degree in Biophysics and International Relations from Claremont McKenna College in 2017.
