Princeton University’s Innovations for Successful Societies program seeks one or more researcher/writers to help develop public management case studies that build on program concepts. The case development process includes desk research, extensive interviewing, and preparation of successive drafts, with frequent feedback from team members. Background in public management or related social science preparation required, along with demonstrated ability to conduct effective interviews and excellent writing skills. Successful applicants must be able to identify the facts important to public servants and researchers; organize this information, along with quotations from multiple sources, to illuminate significant takeaways; and draft crisp, muscular prose. Travel both within the US and in low-income country settings is an aspect of the job. Language skills and prior experience in low-income country settings are both a plus. We seek people able to work on contract. Pay is pro-rated equivalent to university scale adjusted to help cover healthcare premiums.
